Last week I joined Steven Clyde from the Peace and Liberty Podcast to discuss the topic of Anarchy in Ireland.
While I know that anarchy (not in the chaotic sense but) as philosophical value or political system was not the goal of early Irish society, nor did the early Irish consider themselves to be anarchic.
The socio-political system was one that was not based on a centralised order or power, least of all when it came to the laws which were polycentric resting with the people themselves.
In the space of an hour, we skim over a number of core principles and ideas from the Brehon law including restitution, honour, and illustrate some of these points using stories from Irish mythology.
