40 Years of Research: Irish Castles & Tower-houses with Guest Martin Breen

Martin Breen is an Irish historian, researcher, and author who has dedicated over 40 years of his life to uncovering some of the lesser-known truths about Irish history. Martin Breen is an expert on Irish Castles and Tower-houses with a particular focus on the 230 castles in Co. Clare alone, though he has visited thousands of castle and tower-house sites across Ireland throughout his career having published countless articles.

Martin Breen’s ambition is to add to the body of research and make this knowledge more available to the wider public. As part of this mission, he re-published “The Story of an Irish Sept” by Nottidge Charles MacNamara, and “The Origins of the O’Brien Clan” by John O’Donoghue, and he is currently transcribing a previously unpublished volume of the O’Brien genealogies and history.
