The FINAL Chapter in The Story of the Irish Race | A Poem About Ireland’s Destiny

Published in 1921, Seamus MacManus’ Story of an Irish Race speaks to the times in which it was written. MacManus’ hoped to rekindle a deep awareness of Irish culture and identity at a time when it was needed. From the invasions of the first people, the Milesians, the Tuatha de Danann, on through the epic and heroic literature and culminating in the era it was written–1916 Easter Rising.
